It was a bit weird, to be honest.

They kept it under the rug for a long time, BBBoC, Matchroom and Wasserman that is. A few months.

Then when it got leaked to the media on fight week, only then did the BBBoC come out with a statement saying the fight won't be going ahead. I wonder if it didn't get leaked, we'd ever know about it. I don't know, it's sketchy though.

They did the same thing with Dillian Whyte when he popped vs Rivas.

As soon as you sign on the dotted line, you agree to whatever they put in the small print.

The BBBofC were unsure of their position legally due to VADA being a contracted third party rather than their official testing agency.

The BBBoC know full well what their position legally is with VADA. That was far from their first rodeo with them.

It’s sketchy, at best. As is a lot of their behaviour around this kind of thing.

I personally don't think the BBBofC are the prime culprit here. Just so I'm clear though, are you implying that the BBBofC were complicit with the promoters in trying to push ahead until it became untenable owing to the leak?

It's of course difficult for any of us to make a confident judgement here given the lack of public information/primary sources.

The key word here is in the name of the entity: control.

The BBBoC's motive is control in the name of their own benefit (be that what it may but it's money, obviously), as is that of any monopoly/totalitarian regime.

I don’t know, is the answer. I just do know all involved were acting shady around it and at worst attempting to hide it for an extended amount of time, and that does include the BBBoC. There was no reason for them to sit on that information for months.

Then after the media got their hands on it, the BBBoC decided to find their moral compass all of a sudden.

They all use sauna suits, they are in a hotel the night before, they cant depend on their being a working hotel sauna they have to be able to manage it themselves

UFC does the exact same thing

He just uploaded it all to social media which I seen UFC fighters do a lot more of than boxers.

They already had a second weigh in the next day (re-hydration clause) which is to prevent extreme weight cuts but the guys do it anyways.

I mean these two were basically 2 divisions apart but wanted to make the fight for the money and milk their father's names, so you get what we got is a weight cut like this

What do you think Benn would say? he wanted that check, he knew he was going against a larger guy

From welterweight to middleweight, Benn and Eubank Jr may not be the best, but hats off to them for a fight for the ages.
