It's a foreseeable hazard of doing business, which is why promoters should learn not to take it too personal. I think Hearn would lose some sleep if Ennis leaves. I think Ennis' success is gradually becoming personal for Hearn.

Just a few weeks ago I posted a thread about PBC in talks with Matchroom and one that was thought out was this fight
      Again anything is possible

Yes, because it's seems like such an obvious match-up to us. However, Davis will only face Shakur when all other options have been exhausted. He doesn't really want to face Shakur, and is probably hoping Zepeda solves the problem. Davis would probably fight Zepeda. Davis will also prioritize Loma (who hasn't retired yet) over Shakur. Also, Davis still has to get past Roach again.

Well he’s gonna have to get through Roach before anything else

It's naive to think Hearn would be able to make Shakur vs Tank. He's not even needed in this fight. All it takes is Turki's money.
Very true. They go to Hearn when Haymon/Floyd/Ellerbe want nothing to do with them and as a last resort.
Cases in point were Haney and Ennis.

haney signed with hearn in 2019 i think and became undisputed in his class with him making lots of cash along the way, he only left in 2024, thats a long stint in boxing

ennis has just unified and is doing exactly what he wants to do

                lol

Exactly. Haney wanted to be with TMT but Floyd didn't want him. Haney himself credits Hearn for being the only guy who took interest in signing him.
No offers were coming from PBC in Ennis case, so Hearn became the only choice for the father and son team.

whats that got to do with black fighters becoming established and then wanting nothing to do with hearn?

He is their last resort in my opinion. It's fine if you don't agree.
