Thanks for the fights champ. Probably woulda had a better career without the vodka. But still a great career.

Was saying this last night. Idk if the dude just had bad genetics aesthetically but he looked like a middle aged wino when he was in his prime and never had the “body” of a boxer, but was just melting world champions with ease. Imagine if he was sober and dedicated.

He looked decent, so not a bad performance to retire on. Something about watching a fighter's retirement makes me feel old, and it really crystallizes how cyclical Boxing is.

Now this guy was a great fighter and a must watch. Knockout power in both hands, good skills with that jab, footwork and combinations. And he was mean. I really wish we got to watch him against several other opponents in his prime and that he didn't get screwed over in a few matchups which sped up the end of his reign, but he gave us some great fights. Hope he finds peace for the rest of his life.

It was a good fight. It's always nice to see a former champion retire with a win. Too bad we never got that Adonis undisputed fight.
