Carl Froch Says "Jermain Taylor Must Be Jinxed"

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch expected Arthur Abraham to beat Jermain Taylor on Saturday night in Germany, but even he was shocked at the way it went down. Abraham knocked Taylor out cold in the twelfth and final round of their fight. The KO came down with only seconds left before the final bell. Taylor was already coming off a April knockout loss, to Carl Froch, and that also went down in the twelfth round with only seconds to go in the fight. [details]

I was there at the fight, I'm canadian I was never a Taylor fan and I like Abrahams power and heart but I found myslef rooting for the underdog Taylor. Hearing the crowd I put myslef in his position, it has to be though, it really hurt me to see him go down like that and seign the crowd roar, boxing can be brutal.

Anyways what happens if he can't continue? Could that open up a door, for Green, Lucas, Pavlik? I'd love to see any of those guys in the tournament.

Pls ppls telling Taylor to retire after this, his fight against Froch was lost in the last 15 secs before that he was clearly winning, his fight against Abraham he was winning on points but the knockout was a lucky punch, anyone can get touched up by being lucky!!! Taylor needs to go on, his just unlucky he needs to review his fights and keep his arm up and not get knocked by lucky punches !!! He has spirit and he needs to stay keen and motivated!

I had the fight even going into the last round. Showtime was crazily exaggerating what AA was doing. He landed a few good right hands and a great one at the end. Other than that, AA was not very impressive. Taylor was very predictable with his jab, yet he controlled much of the fight with it. AA has great power and a solid chin, but he has much to work on. He is plainly very slow footed. He has a good guard, but that doesn't mean he has a tremendous defense as some people seem to think. Put him against a guy with good foot movement who shows him some angles and he'll get opened right up. That said, he closed the show in the best way possible. I'd still pick both Kessler and Ward to handle him pretty easily though. If Dirrell fought him a year from now (he's got much to work on himself) as opposed to the next round, I'd pick him to school AA as well. It's an intriguing match-up either way. We'll see if Dirrell can fix his problems by his next fight though. He clearly has the boxing ability to beat AA now, but I wonder about his focus and RJJ-style defense.

Btw, I agree with Froch that poor JT is just jinxed. He has permanent cracks in his beard. He will get KO'd again soon. I hope he spares his health and retires.

He fought Hopkins, Spinks, Wright, Pavlik, Froch, and Abraham. Taylor has been diminished since the Hopkins fights, but Taylor at his best >>>>>>>>>> Froch.

The last but one is the fight with Froch! The scores at the moment of KO were:
              106-102 Taylor, 106-102 Taylor, 102-106 Froch

If Taylor took a knee, he would have won the fight with SD, the scores would be:
              113-112, 113-112, 109-116

it might have been close going into the last round

but Abe's strong 7, 8, and 9th rounds made it very close. additionally I heard officially Abraham was ahead on all 3 scorecards

**kinda funny that I was getting ripped for suggesting way back before the tourney began that if Taylor was knocked out by Abe .. who would want to see his next fight?

now that it happened ... who here really wants to see Taylor fight again? especially vs Ward?

that link has no scores listed for the Abraham-Taylor fight

the ones you listed were vs Froch NOT vs Abraham
