I think the question should be,why was Hatton a legend for holding in the UK (hell,he was allowed and lived off of that style),yet Dirrell is shamed for it....
just a hint-there may be nationalism or prejudice involved

Maybe Dirrell thought the more he emulated Hatton by holding,he would be looked up upon the UK fans! lol

dirrell did not hold, he tied froch up to stop him

          rabbit punching
          and hitting behind the head

dirrell won a good decision - he got robbed simple as!!!

            Did they really?

            Eh..ignorant poster comments then.

Froch wanted to fight while Dirrell wanted to keep a distance, shot in with one or two punches, get out...hold in close, etc.
It wasn't until he lost a point that I actually started to like what he was doing.
He still won the fight though because he landed more.

I like that Froch wanted to fight because that is what I like and I do think most fans like that...and I'm counting the large portion that are mainly average viewers and once in a while type fans that are attracted to the big fight.
But, he still lost on points.

I felt bad for AD that he lost when he should have won but he also should have done more like he did later on. He should have continued to jab and then throw combos throughout the fight. Only need to move when you really need to. Froch was having trouble when AD was throwing combos as well as throwing the jab.
Now, could AD have kept that up for 12 rounds, not sure. He did start to wear out because of all the moving though.

I agree with you! So many Americans are bandwagon jumpers & sore losers! Always full of excuses.I agree I've read so much hatemail for hatton.Americans call him a bum for losing to the 2 best p4p boxers in the world.call hatton a clown for holding & now that trackstar, hugged dirrell holds & it's ok...typical Americans!

I actually had dirrell winning 116-112 but he shot himself in the foot for holding, crying, ducking his head to allow froch to hit him in the back of the head.the ref let that go because of his constant ducking.he didn't just use good footwork to avoid punches he RAN! You don't win on the road doing that.the result was no surprise.deal with it Yankees! Your American fighters get some pretty favorable judging too in some states.just ask gil hoye in Texas!

you americans are the ones making it europe vs usa. you americans never give credit or respect to european fighters, you americans think all european/russian/brittish fighters are hyped up bums. you americans think you are superior than us. and then you get surprised when europeans feel anger towards you? ***** it is Europe vs U.S.A and it always will be.
