I wasn't fond of all the holding because of his lack of an inside game. That is clearly his plan. Keep it long range and as soon as it gets close, tie up.

    That is not defense.

That is taking away from the fight.

I could see why Froch was frustrated and resorting to the roughhousing. I think he should have got a point taken away just as much as Andres was deserved.

It was a fight and Dirrell was turning it into a hugfest, then crying like Kermit Cintron when Carl would hit him anyways.

Develop an inside fight Dirrell and you won't have to act like a girl when it gets close.
Point was taken away for a headbut Dirrell landed on the break.

great defensive fighters who displayed immense skills and 'the sweet science' like toney, pea and floyd will stand in front of you, sit in the pocket make you miss and make you pay. (ok floyd hasn't done it much at the higher weights) what dirrel did defensively was not skillful, it was not the sweet science. anyone can run away from his opponent then get john ruiz on him when he gets within 3 feet.

I did gain respect for Dirrell, he was far more poised than I ever thought he would be. Fought very settled early on and showed heart in spots. But at some points it looked like he didn't have heart - I don't know, very confusing. I'm not sure he's ready for this level of competition but he surprised me yesterday. Hopefully he learns from this experience.

I lost respect. He barely came to box, let alone fight. Stank out the entire fight and deserved to lose a decision on attitude and inactivity alone.

Even if you didn't think he won (which quite a few including myself felt he should have) you have to admit it was a real close fight.
No I was appalled by both Dirrell and Froch.
