And you think 147 is the class that's supposed to build popularity? Welterweight is a dead division, as is 160. 154 is one of the hottest classes in boxing right now.
154 is hot, but there's no clear-cut superstar that Ennis needs to immediately move up for. Bohachuk/Madrimov/Murtazaliev are solid and have gotten bigger names (Crawford, Ortiz, Tszyu), but they aren't draws themselves. Ortiz/Fundora are being developed into attractions, and they would benefit from getting in the ring with each other. I think the winner would be the perfect foil for Ennis. Tszyu needs to trounce Thurman in order to regain some of his luster.

Would I like to see Ennis vs. those guys? hell yes! But he should be prioritizing Barrios/Norman at the moment. If those fall through, then go after Murtazaliev.

Amen. That's why I've been advocating for Ennis taking care of business at 147 while he can still make the weight, getting some of that easy money and building his rep destroying any of Barrios/Norman/Garcia/Teo/Haney that dare to sign on the dotted line. Let 154 settle, especially after Crawford either retires or decides he wants something else after the Canelo payday, establish a top guy, and Boots can then get in the mix. I'd like him to fight Giyasov and get that out of the way while Norman fights Sasaki, unify with Norman, maybe deal with Crocker or unify with Barrios while Haney and Garcia take care of business, then fight the winner of that. If he can get that all done by the end of 2026, I think he'll already be really hyped, and he can petition the WBO for super champ status and then jump straight into a title fight vs whoever holds the WBO belt at 154 by then.

In an ideal scenario, Donovan would've gotten the victory over Crocker....and then Giyasov/Donovan to consolidate a mandatory. Meanwhile, Ennis faces Norman/Barrios. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting Crocker/Donovan 2.

TBH Crocker and Donovan are barely contender level IMO. IBF rankings are absolutely garbage. That's the sort of fight that doesn't make it past the 4th, and shouldn't even be sanctioned.

I've seen a few of Donovan's fights and think he has potential, but he needs more pro experience. I don't foresee Crocker developing much further, and I feel bad for what Ennis would do to him. If MR wants to introduce Ennis to a UK audience, Ennis/Crocker would be a good way to do it. Ennis would get criticized for the opponent, but he'd put on a display of violence that might gain him some new fans.

Yeah, those 3 guys are better than Vergil.
Ennis can do more as far as skill set than Vergil. GGG stayed at 160 forever when a Ward fight was there. I bet you won’t say he ducked Ward. Ennis doesn’t have to go up for Vergil like he’s some big star. Ennis was calling for Bud who’s better than Ortiz.

Yet he wont face Ortiz, but willing to go up for Crawford. It's a duck. Skills don't alway pay the bills. You need speed, strength, stamina, balls, a chin. Can Ennis take Virgil's punches to the chin or the body? We don't know.

Ortiz ducked Stanionis for his biggest payday at the time
Of all the bums booty has fought which one was the most popular or popular that ortiz? Yes Ortiz is hiding, he's in a weight class 10 times more dangerous than that garbage weight class booty is in

Stanionis was seen as a good opponent, but Boots made it look easy. Can Vergil withstand Boots assault? He’ll be stronger at 154. Vergil isn’t faster than Ennis.
