      2. Bivol won’t get the same response as Canelo because he’d be fighting beterbiev. Unlike Canelo who instead of fighting Benavidez, picked a 40 yr old mw, a C level Brit, a junior welterweight, a c level Mexican and another c level prospect.
      3. Canelo is as “white” as they come.
lol, you need a life that doesn’t revolve around your hate for Canelo! Seriously, you bring him up in a thread that doesn’t even mention him, not his division even!!! Try stepping outside into the real world my boy, maybe you could find a woman or man to occupy some of your obsessed and hateful ways!!! Lol

Exactly, Canelo IS white. they literally don’t come whiter than he does. He has the same red hair I had as a youth with the pale skin. And Bivol’s mother is Korean by the way. Hence his mongoloid phenotype

No issue with the rematch but would prefer to see Bivol and Beterbiev fight someone else first.

Always thought Smith v Yarde at Anfield late summer would be a goer but Smith v Benevidez in Vegas makes sense too.

I rather see Bivol/Benavidez. Bivol/Beterbiev were good fights but far from great. A lot of B named fighters.

Said this once and I'll say it again,

Benny should have stayed away off the Coca & Tortas ,getting stripped twice off them wbc belts ultimately led him into all this waiting hassle.

              All decisions have consequences folks.

I mean Its not like he had a shot of beating Bivol lol but still I would prefer to watch that than a third consecutive one with Beterviev but it is what it is.

Benavidez, also a former two-time WBC super middleweight titlist, was invited to attend Beterbiev-Bivol II at the request of Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and the driving force behind Riyadh Season.

However, BoxingScene learned that talks not only failed to advance very far but were open-ended and unproductive.
This to me is the most telling part. Turki personally requested/invited Benavidez to be at the fight, they tried to talk business and talks went nowhere.

Obviously, Turki wants to work with Benavidez but isn't able to. He probably planned to either have him fight Beterbiev for undisputed if he won the rematch, or if Bivol won and a trilogy was set, have Benavidez take an interim fight on a Saudi card before fighting the winner for undisputed. That seems the logical plan, and at the time Benavidez was saying he would step aside to allow a trilogy fight if Bivol won, so what changed?

Between Haymon refusing to do business with Turki (to the detriment of his fighters) and the WBC jumping the line ahead of the IBF to enforce their mandatory next, this whole thing stinks. They're essentially managed to steal the WBC title via the path of least resistance so that they can hold it hostage and promote Benavidez as a big star without risking him losing against the best fighters in the division.

What also couldn't be more clear is that having four different sanctioning bodies makes reigning as undisputed champion nigh-on impossible, and allows for - even facilitates - underhanded loopholes like this one. In a rational world we would next get Bivol-Beterbiev III and Benavidez-Smith with the winners then squaring off. Instead, the trilogy winner will be forced to take a nothing fight against the IBF mando (if Bivol is doesn't already get stripped beforehand that is) and Benavidez will fight some random PBC guy. Thank you, boxing.

"Beterbiev-Bivol II was permitted to move forward by the WBC on the condition that the winner would next face Benavidez, who defeated former lineal champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk last June 15 to win the interim belt."

Well, that's all I needed to see, right there. Very unfortunate break for Benavidez! Can't get Canelo 2 168, now can't get Bivol or Beterbiev @ 175! Smh.

How do you KNOW they are the TOP 2 if they have not beaten Benavidez? What if really the top guys is Benavidez, but is not given the chance.

What was the offer for the trilogy vs a Benavidez match?
Based on your logic, a good fighter hops a division and instantly magically becomes next in line? What about the top 10 before him that have been in the division? I’m certain they’d have an issue with someone magically ranked. That’s why boxing has been and is a sham. It’s why I respect Hagler for the number of years he stayed in the division long after he unified. Today’s “champs” hop from division to division, corrupt sanctioning bodies rank them and viola they are immediately ranked to fight for a belt.
