I think the tune-up fights are more for Charlos sake because of how inactive he has been due to his ongoing mental health problems. I think a tune-up is a good idea before he fights Plant, and for Plant, it makes sense to take an easier fight and stay sharp instead of sitting and waiting for Charlo to finish his tune-up. Plus the post fight press conference could be very interesting with them both there coming off wins.
