The same was true of Benavidez when they fought, let's not rewrite history to make it seem like Benavidez had a stellar resume comparatively.

Khan had never fought at 154 a day in his life prior to the canelo fight. Khan had just fought algeir at 147. Khan was at 147 when he moved up to 155 to fight the catchweight king canelo. Facts not opinion.

Ok, casual. If you actually followed the sport, you'd know why that happened. Andrade is on record ducking Janibek so many times he ran out of excuses and had to flee to 168 and inactivity rather than fight his mandatory. Janibek also unified vs the IBF champ. Oh, the IBF champ is weak, you say? That's Scull, who unlike Janibek, hasn't defended his title, which is why Canelo will be stripped immediately upon trying to fight 147lb Crawford. Holy double standards, Batman.

Scull fought for a vacant belt vs similarly unheralded Shishkin. Berlanga never even won a world title, let alone defended it, and he was mandatory for Morrell, not Canelo. The aforementioned Morrell was mandatory for Canelo for 4 years, but Canelo made sure that never got ordered, and fought his mandatory's mandatory instead. Munguía was a 154lb titlist who never won a title at 160. Ditto Jermell Charlo. Ryder never won a title, and he's the most credible 168lber that Canelo fought after becoming undisputed.

I like to watch Canelo fight, and I think he's a canny, skilled fighter. But unlike you, I'm capable of calling a duck when I see it.
