I would never begrudge a person for liking and/or seeing something in a fighter the way Bread looks at Boots, but man... I just don't see it, and the way he explains it by bobbing and weaving around actual great and tested fighters is... I don't know. He has to owe Boots a favor. Has to.
Lord, sounds like Bread's been talking with Bill Haney , This crying on behalf of Black American boxers is pitiful. Please stop whining like spoiled children. It is not a good look at all. Only people with the same mentality are going to agree with you. Like, losers.
bread makes some good points not sure i agree with usyk going back to cruiser as a possible possible path to his goat status tho, i think going back down would just be a right pain and who is he going to prove this with zurdo? hhhhmmm

I have a different theory. I think Breadman has some pride in "discovering" Boots. Let me explain. A few years ago, I remember reading this forum (and I wasn't posting at the time) and suddenly I was reading about this Boots guy that I never heard of. Breadman was signing his praises and comparing him to the best fighters at the time. I was surprised there was a fighter that I never saw fight, that never beat anyone of note and he was being compared to the p4p greats by a respected boxing trainer and analyst. I was shocked. Breadman introduced Boots to the boxing world and made everyone sit up and take notice. In a way he is a like a proud father who has a smart and talented kid telling the whole world about him

I wouldn’t tarnish Bread with that comparison. Bill Haney strikes me as a believer in racial superiorities, and we all know his son’s made disparaging statements about white fighters in the past. In contrast, Bread’s spoke and written at length about his admiration for many non-black fighters. I well remember his ‘racial insecurity’ accusation towards certain people of a particular demographic dissing Lomachenko when he was at his peak and, in my opinion, outperforming everybody in the sport.

If Opetia and Zurdo fight and Usyk beats the winner of those two that would be impressive. It's my understanding from listening to Usyk that he has to work hard to maintain his weight for heavyweight. It seems more difficult for Usyk to bulk up than to cut down.
I gotta push back on this. He only answers questions people submit to the mailbag. People love bringing up Boots, so he answers them. And we're all fortunate to finally get to see what Boots has, starting with his next fight against Stanionis. And if he wins impressively the next couple of years should show a lot.
