It would be a great win, but? Better versions of Canelo Alvarez have already been beaten by Floyd Mayweather Junior and Dmitry Bivol.

Floyd Mayweather Junior while he was miles outside of his peak 'Has already beaten Canelo Alvarez, easily 12-0. And this was at a time in Alvarez's career, when he was a unbeaten World Champion. I personally don't buy into the narrative that? Canelo Alvarez was some sort of rookie fighter; he was an unbeaten World Champion when he fought Floyd Mayweather Junior. And had just prior beaten top level fighters such as Shane Mosley and Austin Trout'.

Terrence Crawford is jumping up two weight classes, but? He has not really solidified himself as the best fighter at 154 pounds 'Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao, always solidified themselves as unequivocally the best fighters in all the division's they were competing in. Before they decided to invade another weight class, and target the Champions'.

So in my opinion, if Terrence Crawford is able to beat Canelo Alvarez 'This would not increase his greatness to higher levels than Floyd Mayweather Junior or Manny. Those two fighter's resumes are just by far too superior, and they have both beaten a higher number of greater fighters than Terrence Crawford has throughout their careers'.

Note: I have not mentioned Henry Armstrong or Sugar Ray Robinson 'Because those fighters are on a completely different stratosphere of greatness. Terrence Crawford in total has had 41 professional fights. That is it, and he is close to getting out of the game. Sugar Ray Robinson in total has had 201 professional fights, and Henry Armstrong in total has had 181 professional fights. And once upon a time fought 27 times in one year'.

In a total of 201 fights. Ray Robinson had won by knockout 109 times 'After his first lost against Jake LaMotta, who he beat another 5 times in their 6 fight battle. Sugar Ray Robinson went unbeaten for a total of 91 fights. Overall he achieved a feat of 174 wins, 109 by knockout with 19 loses. Sugar Ray Robinson was only ever stopped once by Joey Maxim, in 1952 during his last ever title fight'.

Sugar Ray Robinson throughout his career, avenged loses to Jake LaMotta, Randolph Turpin, Gene Fullmer, and Carmen Basilio 'The reason why I have highlighted this point is because? Avenging a loss is in my opinion, one of the greatest obstacles and challenges any fighter can overcome inside a boxing ring'.

Overall it is a fighters overall resume, his nearest competition and the fighters he competed against 'Those are the major factors along with individual performances, which make a fighter great. Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Amstrong, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao all have overall superior resumes than Terrence Crawford and they all fought in superior boxing eras'.

To conclude: Terrence Crawford is one of the best pound for pound fighters in todays boxing era 'The battle for the number one ranking is between Oleksandr Uysk and Terrence Crawford. On feats achieved? I think Oleksandr Uysk should be ranked as number 1 currently right now as we speak. But if Terrence Crawford moves up two weight classes, and beats Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds? That feat of achievement will potentially put him as the number 1 pound for pound fighter in the World'.

It would still be very close between Oleksandr Uysk and Terrence Crawford 'I would personally still rate Oleksandr Uysk as number 1. As I have always regarded his two wins over both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, as pound for pound the greatest individual wins of the past 15 years in the sport etc.

            - - Craw fan base is as dire as Deyonce's though Craw a better fighter by far.

Henry Armstrong and Robby in their primes were as dominant and popular as most any dominant and popular fighter in history who packed fight venues to overflowing. Craw the only fighter Arum has ever lost $$$ on.

Frankly, I think Canelo is starting a slow fade, but Bud's inactivity and being 37 yrs old is quite a mountain to climb. Canelo with over 500 rds of boxing has more than double that of Craw, yet Canelo has taken very little punishment in spite of his prolific schedule.

Canelo would be considered a superior guy overall to Corrales.

So if Bud is one win away from being an all timer then what does that win do for Canelo if he he beats him?

Yes, beating Nelo would be better than beating Corrales. Bud would have the best win over nelo too, better than Bivols and better than Floyds victory over Nelo. Bud jumping 2 divisions to do it would have to give edge to Bud id have thought.
