    Who Next for David Morrell

Having peeled off 5 rounds from the top contender at 175 where does Cuban David go from here

He could possibly even squeeze in 2 more fights in 2025 one in July and then in December

I believe Yarde and Gvozdyk would be terrific matches for Cuban David

Yarde and Gvozdyk would definitely be solid matchups! Yarde’s power and aggression could make for an explosive fight, while Gvozdyk’s experience and technical skills would really test Morrell’s adaptability at 175. If Morrell stays active with two fights in 2025, those would be perfect stepping stones toward a potential title shot. Do you think Bivol or Beterbiev might be on the horizon if he clears those hurdles?

      yes

if I was matching Cuban David

I’d put him in with Gvozdyk next for the experience and confidence building after the loss to Benavidez

Gvozdyk has been in with the best. Cuban David only has a handful of fights and can learn

after Gvozdyk for Cuban David it’s onto the winner of Yarde-Buatsi

      Possibly one more fight thereafter

Cuban David wins these 2-3 fights and he’ll be the top contender for Bivol in the 2H 2026

Morrell is a long southpaw. Gives Bivol excellent preparation to fight Parker’s Cousin Jai

My main concern is that Morrell fight ASAP. Doesn’t have to be against anyone special, just a decent opponent. In fact, it might be better if he fights a couple of reasonable boxers before stepping in with rated opposition.

I think he could take Callum Smith, personally, if he wants to be back in relatively tough, and it gets him right back in title contention. But Smith likely won't risk his interim against a dangerous opponent like Morrell.

Gvozdyk is the definition of someone who would be a decent opponent!

            you know what be jokes

Cuban David fighting Callum because Mexican David team was too busy trolling Bivol with demands

Mexican David would be left with opponents well below his level
