Boxing was always great. We didn't need no leagues, no sports washing government officials like Turki, didn't need greedy Dana White who always trashed talked boxing now magically he wants in. You will have guys go 12 hard rounds for $150k
Maybe this will succeed, maybe it will fail. I don't know.
What I do know is that despite often pissing and moaning about some of the consequences, I like the "every man for himself," cut throat nature of boxing and I fear too much organization will dilute that and take some of the intrigue out of the "theater of the unknown."
Basically we are going from four sanctioning bodies to five. This one in total control over fighters fighting under its au****es. Honestly , I don't like it and I don't think that too many fighters will either.
I think that Turki/Dana will just end up buying the various rival promoters e.g. Matchroom, Top Rank etc just like Dana did with Pride & Strikeforce in the UFC. However, I think that will be their LAST move after signing all the promising talent to back them into a corner and lower the price.
