Canelos first 6 title fights

Think that is the path of most pro boxers though some take the harder fights. What seems odd to me is that they use the name of high profile fighters that were highly faded like Mosley and Cotto to promote Canelo's resume, laying them out without any context. Despite that these fighters were in a state that they could lose to lesser contenders or champions.

Also don't like that he used stipulations as anti-risks like catchweights and rehydration for a lot of fights early on after moving on from upcomer stage, he also fights smaller opponents for my liking. Hatton, Khan, Lopez, Charlo and looks like Crawford is next. He had a few controversial win decisions when he saw high risk high reward opponents over GGG (Draw as well, but at least Canelo ran it back), Lara and almost Bivol.



Not denying he has a pretty good resume, with wins over Trout, Lara, Golovkin, Jacobs, Saunders, Plant and some other notable wins that most champions wish they had if they had the opportunities he had, which is high rate run. But his fanbase seems to quite really overestimate the quality of his resume stating he beat 21-23+ champions. But reality is closer that he fought about 8-9 prime opponents without advantages in the middle of his career, and he didn't beat all of them that convincingly while giving him a lot of benefit of the doubt in the scorecards against Mayweather and Bivol.

that is kind of the point. canelo turned out to be good no doubt but guys like wilder and tank tried to emulate canelos career when they werent the real deal. its not a very nice thing to do to try and pass off guys as top tier talent when they arent. sometimes yes it turns out they are, but sometimes with wilder and tank...they arent. the nice thing to do would be just to promote the guys who are actually good and actually willing to fight the best. took awhile for canelo and recently he went back to his ducking and tiny fighter ways but at least he had a good career in the middle

They gave him 4 rounds consecutive rounds at the start and the round where he lifted Bivol up WWE style out of frustration. I think he won at best 3 rounds and not consecutively in a row like it is shown in the scorecards.

To me, Alvarez's record against dangerous opposition would be 7-4, 3 KOs or 8-3, 3 KOs. I am undecisive about Lara, because while he moved and picked his shots well making the fight quite competitive, think he got outhustled by body work and over hands.

Kovalev (To a degree as he is coming off a big fight from a few months ago and has a rehydration clause)

from my recollection there was only 1 clear round he won in the fight and it wasnt 1 of the first 4, maybe round 9? these guys are laughable
