Not impressed. Ball probably set the world's record for missed punches. The definition of one-demesional fighter who before long will get outboxed and stopped.

Another sign of anti Irish bigotry that's steeped in British boxing for decades. Only a few weeks ago an Irish fighter in Paddy Donovan was disqualified for PUNCHING a British fighter ( well pretend British anyway) after the bell. Roll on a couple of weeks and we now see a British fighter KICK his Irish opponent after the bell and no disqualification and not even a warning or points deduction from the referee. Irish fighters should refuse to fight on any BBBC sanctioned cards. Unlikely to happen but they need to at least make a statement on this blatant anti Irish bigotry.

This is not Kickboxing. You can't use your legs like that in Boxing. I mean kicking your opponent after bell rang? Come on! To my understanding Ball kicked him because Doheny wasn't letting him go. Even if that was the case, let refree do his job by taking a point from Doheny. You can't kick your opponent in any situation in Boxing. It's an another shameful and corrupt night of Boxing from United Kingdom.
There was nothing corrupt about it. The ref wouldn't have been able to see Ball kick Doherty and probably thought he had just shoved him in retaliation for being put in a side headlock after the bell. It wasn't a hard kick, more a display of anger than an attempt to hurt or injure. At the end of the day, nobody was injured and they were both happy to fight on, so I think the ref handled the situation well.
