Because for years Dana kept saying HE was going to shake up the boxing status quo, HE was going to make the fights people wanted to see, just stay tuned for further announcements (which never came) and here he is like you said, being brought in by Turki. Turki's the one making things happen, not Dana.
Probably because he realised boxing would be a total money pit compared to what hes already doing. Its a lot easier when you have a dude who is willing to basically burn money for a higher purpose financing it.
