Doesn't matter what promotion is was with. The fight should have happened.

Most recently, it's was Bud that poured water on the possibility of the fight. Ridiculous, being that he would be the easy favorite.

This is a boxing forum where people express opinions and debate boxing.

Trump is a dumbass that doesn't know what he's doing. He's alienated ALL of the U.S.'s allies and he's losing the trade war he started because of a bad deal that he made 5 years ago and has tanked the market on top of it. He's firing people, not because of waste, but instead to create room for more tax cuts to the wealthy.

And I'm an Emmy Award winning video editor. True story.

Would be frustrating to be a fan of his. Pathetic activity for many years. He should be having a tune up for Canelo but its all just for a pay day.

In the sport of boxing, many people don't really understand accurately what being active or inactive is for an athlete 'There are Olympic level athletes, who? Only compete a few times per year, in such sports as gymnastics. Are those guys inactive? No. They are training all year around, and working towards specific goals and competitions'.

Boxing is a sport of process, meaning? Most of a fighters improvements, conditioning is built inside the gymnasium week in week out 'Most fights are ultimately won and lost during training camps. The actual fights in my opinion, reflect all the work that has accumulated from their training throughout the years'.

Fighters may gain experience from actually fighting on fight night 'But they don't improve their Vo2 max, Punch technique, Speed, and Endurance. All of those attributes of a fighters game, are refined, improved or maintained inside the gymnasium'.

That is why certain fighters are very rarely if ever inactive 'Floyd Mayweather, Carl Froch, Bernard Hopkins, David Haye, Anthony Joshua. Those fighters are recent competitors who are renowned for their work ethic'.

Note: David Haye from a very early point in his career 'Was not really fighting at a high frequency, but? He was fighting at a really high level. In his 11 professional fight, Haye fought for the IBO World title vs Carl Thompson. Haye unfortunately lost that fight, but? In only 4 fights later, in his 16th professional fight. David Haye fought for the European Cruiserweight title vs Alexander Gurov, and proceeded to blast him out inside one round'.

Haye at periods in his career where he did seem inactive in terms of actually fighting 'But he was always training, and accumulating game. I would not regard Haye's work ethic on the level of Floyd Mayweather Junior's or Bernard Hopkins, but for sure? It was one of his strongest attributes. His training camps in my opinion, from what I have read were awe inspiring at his peak'.

Terrence Crawford in today's boxing game, is that same level of fighter 'Champions like Crawford are very rarely if ever truly inactive. Terrence Crawford as a competitor most likely has his targets? One of those being now to fight Canelo Alvarez'.

A fighter with that type of Work ethic, attitude and intensity 'Is always going to be dangerous in my opinion. When they are matched against fighters who really only dedicated to the sport 100%, when they have a competitor fight scheduled. Training consistently has an accumulative effect on a fighter over the long term, and those effects in my opinion support longevity and the maintenance of their skills'.

Tyson Fury by the average Joe standards, his work ethic may be abnormal to most people 'But up against Oleksandr Uysk, Fury appeared to have very bad work ethic. Theoretically it is possible that Tyson Fury may have never lost to Oleksandr Uysk if? He had the work ethic of Anthony Joshua, throughout all of these years'.

To conclude: Competition starts in the gymnasium, Mark Spitz was a 9 times Olympic Gold Medal Winner. And in total 11 times Olympic Medallist. I believe it was Spitz who made this quote 'Winners train, when they don't want to train'.

Now? That statement looks so simple on the surface 'But it is not. Because when you really think about it? It is during those moments when an athlete maybe does not want to train, and seeks to instead take a short cut somewhere in their preparation. In a sport such as boxing, where a fraction of a second, or a few margins to the left or right can be the determining factor in a fighter landing a punch, invading a punch or getting knocked out. Then that quote has a very profound affect over the long term. Because work ethic accumulates' etc.

Great fighter but will be quickly forgotten because of his inactivity and his decision to sign and re sign with Top Rank knowing it would make it more difficult to make the big money fights he supposedly wanted.

Then he got his big fight against Spence well past it’s orime date and after Spence wasn’t the same but he atill dominated him. And what has he done with it? Sat on the shelf and is now in his late stage GGG mode where he won’t fight anyone but a cash out payday against Canelo.

Crawford has always thought he was more worth than what people are willing to pay to see him. He is a top boxer but his inactivity and lack of names won't get him paid what he wants.

If you really look closely at Canelo's last few opponents - to include Bivol, they have been safe opponents. His only dangerous opponent in years was GGG in the first two bouts.

It also seems as though folks forgot that he got pinched for PEDs. PEDs help fighters quite a bit - even after they've been caught.

Boots wants to unify at 147.

It's very weird when fans don't want to see good matchups. I'll leave it at that.

Bud is a great, great, great boxer. But its right he was never made no1 pfp, because he wouldnt have fought much in the same way as floyd didnt to justify it. Bud wouldnt be a people pleaser and thank people by taking on all comers often. Im sure Bud could be, or is every bit as good as Inoue, Bivol and Usyk, but his enthusiasm to get fights made isnt on same level.
