    Spinks (the version Mike fought)

Del Bum would make easy work of them

Outside of Spinks (IF it was prime Spinks), those are the least notable "champs" a person should ever brag about beating !!!
    - - Deyonce was so fragile that he was fighting prelims 6 years in in front of a handful of spectators who were part of his team.

He melts in the 80s without Haymon protecting him. Never learned to box and was dropped by bums coming up.

What grade wuz U in then?

That version was in cash me out mode
Fans tend to over exaggerate a win
        Case in point

BTW, Cooney never amount to anything.
His best win was a washed up Norton

          LOL, 'never amounted to anything".

He literally only lost to 3 of the greatest HWs of all-time. Foreman, Norton, & Holmes.

          Just a clown take.

He beat washed up Norton, literally
And that was his beat W, literally

            Just an honest take

              No pom-poms, just common sense.

If the only people who've ever beaten you at anything in life are people in the HOF, you're not a bum

Cooney never amounted to anything but hope.
There are plenty of bums who only lost to the best fighters they fought
Padded their stats with a bunch of lesser bums.

Let's look at your hero's best opps -

                Lenny (L)
Mike fans cry about Mike not being prime As if Lenny was
Mike would get killed if he had Lenny's resume.

                Holy (L, DQ)
Pure embarrassment. Could not survive Holy's resume.

Spinks, on paper at least (W)
Pure cash out. Would have been an interesting fight prime for prime. Holy moved up, Spinks could have as well.

                Holmes (W)
The Holmes that was watching tv for 2 years. Prime for prime, Holmes eats him up.

                That's about it.
As for the "champs" he beat...... !!!!

                Mike is all image

He had won the WBA, The Ring, and lineal bantamweight titles at age 21.

He had starched of multiple top class champions like Eusebio Pedroza (14-1), Alberto Davila (28-1), and Soo Hwan Hong X2 (28-2-2)>(36-3-3). He also fought top 10 ranked contenders in the ring magazine like Francisco Villegas (28-4),Thanomchit Sukhothai (24-1), and Gilberto Ilueca (25-3). Knocked out these contenders in under 4 rounds.

Too bad for him that at age 23, he faced the renown puncher in Zarate (45-0, 44 KOs) in "The Battle of the Z Boys." and immediately fought another top fighter in Jorge Lujan within the same year. He likely took too much damage despite having a granite chin with slick defense and these back to back losses hurt his morale in fighting at the pros.

Disagree. Zamora got the most out of his career. He couldn’t beat Zarate, likely wasn’t gonna beat Pintor, and wouldn’t beat Chandler. And if he stepped up to 122, Gomez would absolutely butcher him.
