His best W was Holmes who was sitting on a couch for 2 years.
On the rare occasions he faced a quality opp, he lost.
Superbum Botha hit him back and Mike tried to break his arm.
    Couldn't handle it.

    I'll say it again
Mike could not survive John Ruiz' resume.
His best victory was Spinks who was the legitimate HW champion of the world, who beat Holmes 2x & Gerry Cooney, was a top 5 P4P fighter in the world, & is in the HOF

Beating 8 out of the 10 ring rated HWs is nothing to sneeze at.

Fernando Vargas. Trinidad ruined him early, De La Hoya beat him up when he was roided before the age of 25.

Naseem Hamed retired at 28 one fight after the Barrera loss.

Both could've had another successful run

        Spinks !!!!!
Mike would retire half way through who Ruiz faced.

I always wondered what David Reid could have accomplished if he didn't have that eyelid that was always closed before the opening bell rang.

I would put Matthysse somewhere in a top 15 or 20 list. I feel like he was just a couple tweaks away from being a legit title holder at 140

felt like he could have been a real threat if he had a better trainer and a better team around him.

Not wasted but didn't reach full potential. Should have stayed below 135. He was clearly undersized there at Lightweight.

Some fighters tried going up in weight too far like Donaire versus Walters. He moved down found success again. Weight Class exist for a reason. Not everyone can be Pacquaio or Armstrong etc.
