I remember reading he got paid over a million dollars to fight one of the Hylands.

No disrespect to Hyland but presumably he got paid absolute buttons to take the shellacking he did.

I remember watching this fight and thinking this is honestly absolute nonsense.

Brooks career could have been better but he spent most of it being obsessed fighting journeyman whilst chasing a Khan payday and not getting it (till late on in their careers). He fought a lot of journeyman, after the Porter win i thought he was finally going to keep up fighting decent opponents but he won the title and went back to fighting a couple of journeyman. Khan then went and got the Canelo payday at 160 and Brook went and got the GGG payday and then the Spence loss. Andrade was similar spent his time fighting journeyman whilst waiting on a Canelo payday he never got

Reviewing Alfonso Zamora's career whose from the 70s, think he had a strong but short career that could had been more under the right management, he had a well rounded skillset due to his amateur background earning a silver medal in the Olympics coupled with absurd punching power. He had won the WBA, The Ring, and lineal bantamweight titles at age 21.

He had starched of multiple top class champions like Eusebio Pedroza (14-1), Alberto Davila (28-1), and Soo Hwan Hong X2 (28-2-2)>(36-3-3). He also fought top 10 ranked contenders in the ring magazine like Francisco Villegas (28-4),Thanomchit Sukhothai (24-1), and Gilberto Ilueca (25-3). Knocked out these contenders in under 4 rounds.

Too bad for him that at age 23, he faced the renown puncher in Zarate (45-0, 44 KOs) in "The Battle of the Z Boys." and immediately fought another top fighter in Jorge Lujan within the same year. He likely took too much damage despite having a granite chin with slick defense and these back to back losses hurt his morale in fighting at the pros.

              Notoriety, yes
              Quality wise.....pure fabrication.
He has maybe 2 Ws over legitimate opps.
Holmes being one of them (coming off a 2 year hiatus, though)

The "champs" he beat were not built to be champs -
              Berbick
              Smith
              Tucker
              Spinks and his bullshlt tile
              Bruno
              Seldon

Maybe they had a combined total of 5 successful defenses ?

And prior to fighting Tyson, who was Tucker's best W ?

              My list -
              Tony "The Tiger" Ayala
              Donald "The Cobra" Curry
              Edwin "El Chapo" Rosario
              Andrew "The Putz" Golota
              Adrien "The Problem" Broner
              Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy
              Tommy "The Duke" Morrison
              Keef "Sometime" Hurtman
              Kell Broke
              Terrible Terry Norris
