What good is it to have rules if they are not followed? Tank should have been disqualified! Win should have gone to Roach either by knockdown or because Tanks corner got up on the apron and tended to Tank.

Not taking a point away for that knee sets a bad precedent. That basically tells me that at any point, a fighter can take a knee and say something got in their eye, just to even take a break or to throw the opponent off if they are having a good round. If you reverse the call and take the point away, it tells refs that anytime someone takes a knee like that, they are giving up a point for a knockdown. If they do not reverse the decision, every ref will be different in how they handle something like that.

Or they can simply let the decision stand and going forward say that anytime a fighter takes a knee it is a knockdown, but doing that shows that a point should have been taken.

G.Davis would enjoy a second fight keeps him from fighting anyone who is a real challenge to him. i dont like G.Davis but i sure would not put money on Roach knowing what i have seen already forget about. Make him take a real challenge and then go back to the Roachcoach.......

A rematch doesn't do justice to the matter whatsoever and should not be contemplated as a solution. The matter goes beyond a KD/point deduction even though an obvious KD occured. The fact that Tanks corner attended to him without a timeout call by the ref, supercedes everything else. A DQ is the right call. And Tank's team can't argue that they would have upped their game afterwards in the case of a DQ as could be argued in the case of a KD.

Yes, thinking it through, that's the right call and would, as you say, save the "upped their game" arguements.

Roach already got paid handsomely. Hanging an L on Wahid, is great for him. He becomes double champ. Wahid knows he'd want the rematch.
