WBC is trying to save face for not mandating Canelo to fight Benavidez all those years at 168.

It’s all part of the protection plan set out for Canelo
          Takes eyes away from him
And he can go on fighting guys at -$3000 beginning with Scull

Dude been the WBC mandatory for half a decade already. Give the man his marquee matchup. Benavidez and Bivol got history so that should make this fight a bit more compelling. His pressure and fast hands will give anybody a very difficult night at the office and while both guys are very versatile in different ways, Bivol is something he's never seen before(at least professionally). If Benavidez doesn't take step aside money for the trilogy fight, this is the next best thing at 175(or all of boxing for that matter). Really hoping this one comes off.

No trilogy has gone all 3 in a row. Let bivol school that bum then the trilogy.

The trilogy right away only benefits him which is why he's willing to stay on the sidelines. He gets whooped by both

The W.B.C must be feeling Guilty. They refused to defend Alvarez fight Benavidez @ 168 . Isn’t the I.B.F guy next . Benavidez is to good for his own good . Let’s see what the Shekh has got to say .

This decision was made in Haymon's office.

They spent years not enforcing his mandatory status to protect their cowardly cash cow at 168 but within 5 days of winning the title enforced his status on Bivol. Their Mexican bias has no shame.
