Comments Thread For: WBA orders Kubrat Pulev-Fabio Wardley, grants Oleksandr Usyk an exception

The winner of Pulev-Wardley ? or Pulev in the event of a draw ? must then face No. 3 contender Michael Hunter within 120 days.

Don't love the title but those are not bad fights. Wardley should be tested against some old lions.

Reasonable next step for Wardley. Ignore the fictional belt

Whoever comes out of Wardley-Pulev-Hunter with that fake belt will have actually earned a crack at the real title, so I don't have a problem with this.

Yes, good fight. I think Wardley, assuming he wins, which I think he will, facing Pulev then Hunter are two good stepping stones to where he is wanting to go. I like Wardley. He's got that explosive style that even top fighters can struggle against. He just attacks at will when the time is right. Compare that to Wilder now that he can't pull the trigger any more, any skilled fighter deals with him. Fury's reflexes and trigger pull are shot to bits now as well. Watch the Usyk 2 fight and all Fury ever did was wait til Usyk threw to throw himself, being reactive, he was never like that in his prime.

Division needs the likes Wardley, who has maybe 5 years at the top/contender level in him to replace the aging brigade of Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Zhang, Chisora, Pulev, Whyte, Joyce, etc, so many on their way out now, others need to fill their spots for the next 5 years. As someone who rates Michael Hunter as having a lot of talent, can someone explain how he's in final eliminator position right now?

He won the WBA "gold" belt in his last fight against Cassius Chaney. Chaney was coming off a KO win over former WBA fake belt champion Trevor Bryan, who had just dropped it to Dubois.

If Fabio turns up like he did against Frazer Clarke then we could have a very dangerous fight on our hands here. I really would'nt want to see Pulev badly hurt!!.........
