    It's kinda sad when former champs end up having to take fights at this level to stay busy, or just choose them. It's hard to even tell if "Scissorhands" Jet actually has power because he's only fought limited competition, and got knocked out in the first round by a 7-0 prospect. IMO that doesn't do much to sharpen skills or increase confidence that you still got it at the championship level.

      Tapales is likely just waiting around for Inoue to vacate so he can grab a vacant strap. He'd be a good opponent for Nakatani's first fight at 122, since Inoue has 3 opponents already planned (Cardenas, Akhmadaliev, Ball) before he gets to the Nakatani fight in Spring 2026.
