I think Dirrell landed more punches, though not ''ridiculously more''. Fighters do not always win fights by landing more shots. If you pitty patted me with 4 shots then ran around the ring, and i cornered you and landed a right hand that was more significant than any of that, which was more effective?
A serious question for those who believe Dirrell won

Dirrell was brilliant.
He did what he had to do to win and he did.
I'm a fan now - tonight he showed ..
- the better boxing skill
- the better ring awareness
- the more punch output
- the better punching ability
- dodging ability
- counter punching ability
- slickness
- better strength then i thought he had
- post fight (opponent respect)
etc, you name it
what did froch do?
best thing he said was that he was "going to train" - that's a comment only champions makeComment

I think that Dirrell did enough but I'm glad he lost, I'd rather see Froch advance, Dirrell made Froch look slower than he is but Dirrell did alot of cute stuff that I don't really like to see, I give him more respect now but I don't like his style of fighting. Holding, smirking at his opponent, he showed some heart though.Comment

I thought Dirrell had won the fight...but the way he fought(hugging, running, looking sloppy at times like falling) I had a feeling he wasn't gonna get the decision...
It wasn't drastically one sided so I had the feeling he wouldn't get the decision in Froch's town...as soon as I heard split decision, I knew it...Comment

Did you watch the same fight as everyone else?
Only one fighter was hurt during the bout. I'll give you a hint, since you don't seem to have been paying too much attention to the fight...
It wasn't Dirrell.
Dirrell not only landed more punches, he also landed just about every significant punch of the fight. Unless you count the illegal ones
Both guys looked like crap, but Dirrell at least showed flashes. Froch was just terrible.Comment

How in any way, can you tell me that someone who fought extremely scared early in the fight, complaining to the referee every time Froch would get close, was barley throwing any punches, (and didn't start landing anything significant until after Froch was hurt) beat someone who was trying to press the fight and make it exciting? I give Direll credit for putting up a fight late and coming to Dirrell's home town, though IMO he lost.
This isn't a hate thread, and i think Andre will become a better fighter after this, but he was clearly out worked.Comment
