I don't see how Ricky Hatton won over 30 fights holding and hugging but then they complain about Dirrell who did it and land way more cleaning shots. He even hurt Froch....I thought his chin was granite?????
A serious question for those who believe Dirrell won

holding and running? you can't be serious. Dirrell actually hurt Froch, i can't remember the round exactly but Dirrell landed lefts and rights AT WILL. What fight were you watching?By the same token you can expect to win a fight doing nothing but holding and running.
This is not amateur boxing and Froch landed plenty. Everytime Dirrell got hit or was about to be hit he held, it's as simple as that. If Dirrell had engaged and thrown more than two punches without holding he might have won.Comment

How in any way, can you tell me that someone who fought extremely scared early in the fight, complaining to the referee every time Froch would get close, was barley throwing any punches, (and didn't start landing anything significant until after Froch was hurt) beat someone who was trying to press the fight and make it exciting? I give Direll credit for putting up a fight late and coming to Dirrell's home town, though IMO he lost.
This isn't a hate thread, and i think Andre will become a better fighter after this, but he was clearly out worked.
Froch spent more than half the find trying to get his hands on him, and he wins rounds after landing what? 5 punches? You say he got outworked? How do you get outworked when you landed more power punches and more punches overall, accurately.

That is scoring by YOUR standards. I can go through with you, plenty of fights where the exact thing happened. It wasn't just Dirrell not landing anything significant for most of the early rounds that convinced the judges, it was him complaining every time Froch got on the inside, him running, Froch actually throwing and backing Dirrell against the ropes ( and even landing his own good shots when he had Dirrell in the corner). You cannot do this in a world class fight. So again, rewatch the fight. You can't go to someone's home town and run, plain and simple. What happened when Hopkins complained against Calzaghe? That stuff does not look good to the judges. But that clearly does matter so WTF?
One is a scoring criteria and the other is not.
If i had the opportunity to be in with a shout of winning a!! decision what criteria would i rather have the judges scoring the fight for me on, landing clean effective punches, albeit sporadically, or landing jack ****! and coming foward which is not! a scoring criteria within the rules.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 10-17-2009, 10:44 PM.Comment

its funny how you talk **** about dirrells boxing when your avatar is sweet pea. you are ignorant and have no knowledge of the sweet science. This is coming from someone who canceled his account to make a lot of boxing scene points on a different one. Take the night off, you're probably thinking to hard again.
I'm just not biased. Dirrell ran from Froch and was complaining every time the fight got on the inside ( begging for him to break the action). That's just not the way to fight a champion in his home town. After Dirrell staggered Froch, was when he started to be effective and man up.

lol really, you make no sense. you really have no knowledge of the fight game do you. That is scoring by YOUR standards. I can go through with you, plenty of fights where the exact thing happened.
