But AA takes WAY too many jabs to be taken seriously. To his credit he did drop Taylor with the only damn straight punch he threw all night but get him outside Germany where every body punch isn't met with a warning and every jab thrown his way isn't a lollipop and then I'll be a true believer. Until then he's Richard Dunn (and he better run).
And just for the record, I thought Dirrell might've won his fight as well but like AA it's hard to root for someone that spends half the fight bitching to the ref.
My favorite in the whole damn thing is Froch - At least he is who he is and he is the damn champ of the whole crowd as far as I am concerned. (Again, with the caveat that he may have lost tonight if the fight were somewhere outside europe or Houston.
So get it,Abraham has a great defense, and freaky heavy hands.Problems he's sometimes wild open, and his workrate is low...
    He's more solid than a tank...lol

He's the smaller guy, that's why maybe people root for him too. He's a nice guy, very humble too...not really like Carl...lol

Humble my ass. Every body punch he took he bitched. Then he talks about conquering America. Well, If he want to conquer America, fair enough, fight someone decent here. I'm not saying he isnt a legit fighter. But this notion that he is the best in that division is crazy, in my opinion at least. I LOVE heavy handed fighters. I would much rather watch a good puncher than say, a Winky Wright. But I hate a bad boxer too and I just dont see much skill there. Most of his punches are wide like Mayorga and some other fearsome punchers and we know what happens to those guys when they fight a boxer that will actually fight back. Sure he's 30 whatever and O but as we all know, that doesnt mean much anymore; Honestly, he might win the thing, frankly, it's a weak bunch, but as a personal opinion - I can't see him beating Kessler and I doubt seriously is he will be able to beat Froch (the English after all, have always been the thorn in the side of Germans.)

        Thoughts on these fights.

Two entertaining and competetive fights. A great start to the tournament. As for Dirrell being robbed... I didn't see it that way. I had it 115-112 Froch. I didn't agree with the point deduction, but I still thought Froch won 7 rounds. I picked Dirrell and I am definetly no Froch fan, but I felt he won in what was definetly a good fight. I liked Froch dirty tactics and felt they were needed. Dirrell's holding was a bit rediculous at times. Good fight. Dirrell will be back. Hopefully Froch Kessler is the fight Froch "wants"

As for Abraham and Taylor, I felt Taylor would keep it close and possibly even fight well enough to get "robbed" or be given a draw. On my card he kept it close. It was 105-102 on my card going into the 12th (the same as the official 3rd judge). I really don't like Abrahams style whatsoever but it is apparent he has good defense and definetly has power. Great knockout. I'm not really a Taylor fan but I was hoping he'd win this thing. Now I just hope he fights again.

at 1st i thought that direll was robbed but the more i thought about it i could make the case for froch winning. i dont like froch personally, but i dont think direll did enough to take the belt cleanly from the champ. with the point deduction i had either a draw or froch up by by one round, otherwise it would have been a draw or direll up by one. still not enough in my opinion to take the belt away from the champ.

i like abrahams chances after last nights performance..

I use to think I really liked Abraham's style but I got annoyed and abit bored with his fighting style last night. He was using the high Clottey like guard (you could call it pick a boo) and just stayed infront on taylor blocking everything, didn really use alot of head movement and angles (like Tyson would). He also had a really, really low work rate he would just seldomly throw powerful wild flurries.

I really though Taylor was going to survive the whole fight but I knew he wasn't going to win it on points he couldn't get threw Arthurs guard, the KO was lucky Taylors guard was up but the puch still got threw, I felt bad seeign him go down like that.

While I cannot agree with the majority of this post, I think direll is a horrible matchup for Abraham and I'm going dirrell. Dirrell will be able to counter those horribly wide and ugly punches Abraham throws. We will see about kessler v ward.

Another reason Taylor should have never been in this. Easy out for everyone. Only mistake showtime made.

Anyone else think Nick Charles was gazing at naked pictures of Abraham while calling the fight?

After watching the Froch/Dirrell fight, two thoughts come to mind. Point 1: Andre Dirrell had no business being in this tournament. With the exception of the last three rounds, he spent the entire fight running around trying to avoid being hit. There is nothing wrong with that if you are counterpunching. He was running from side to side trying to avoid being hit, but was not trying to hit his opponent and did not throw counterpunches. He would often bend over to avoid being punched and then would whine when Froch hit him behind the head when he put himself in position to be hit behind the head. When he was not trying to avoid being hit, he would hold as if he was being drilled by his opponent. And he seemed to congratulate himself the entire fight for being so clever in avoiding punches. I don't think he threw more than 20 punches a round for the first 10 rounds. He fought like a scared amateur and certainly is not one of the six best at 168.

I am no fan of Froch. Point 2: I think he is overrated and this fight proved it. In spite of the fact that Dirrell fought so terribly, it was still a close fight, which actually says a lot about Froch as well. Froch will be exposed in a future fight against a quality opponent.

I heard Taylor just likes to party too much on his off time.

Pavlik is now nowhere near the gutsy fighter I used to like. Money is now his primary motivation. For me, this super six tourney is better than wasting your prime years waiting for the big bucks.

                      Champions - ???

All I've to say is that at the age of 40+ I still bet my money on "The Executioner" Bernard Hopkins to clean up this Super Middleweight torney --hands down! In fact, back in his prime -- none of these over rated contenders would have been a true oponent for Hopkins. Just look at what happened during the first fight between King Abraham and Edison Miranda --- the "King" suffered a broken jaw and almost got knocked out although he was protected by the referee numerous times during the entire fight and survived due to several point duductions to keep the belt. Edison just ran out of gas and didn't capitalized on that great opportunity before him in the late rounds to become the new Champ that night regardless of the referree favoritism. Same thing happened with Librado Andrade in Canada during his first fight with Lucian Bute whom he basically knocked out standing up but failed to capitalized in the championship rounds. Lucian Bute -- what a joke for a so called IBF Super Middleweight Champion!
