Although it played like a snuff film, those in the room stood back and let it happen, with only one or two thinking, ?No, no, surely not?...

Best non-historical article I've ever read on this site.

Yes we need to change how we treat boxers during fight week. Problem is, so many fans act like they want reality tv as opposed to watching sport and competition.

Take the whole Benn Eubank egg incident. Its childish, its asinine, yet many fans here acted as if that meant Eubank got the better of Benn because of it?! Are we serious, have we not advanced past the 6th grade? Why is it so hard for fans to act like grown men, and in return expect the same of the fighters. If you want crap like that, go watch Real Housewives and cluck away about it on social media. But let the fighters focus on the fight, and dont pester them on the week build up.

Sadly, this wont happen. Most adults today dont know how to act like grown ups, and this is ever present in boxing fandom...so the media obliges

" We " do not need to change how we "treat" fighters before a fight that is not what Boxing needs what Boxing needs to look at and change is how Boxing treats the fans of Boxing.
The price of admission the way that boxing ignores there fans and could care less about how to bring in new fans all these simple things should be what Boxing could and should look at and not get all inbreed on some hype job(s) that they have developed and how they are offended by or are they really so offended ? Or is this just another diversion .............
Boxing only answer's to Boxing and until that changes all this type of talk is useless and helps the sport of the fight game not at all...........

Problem is, the egg slap created cross over media appeal. We’ve seen it everywhere in the UK. That translates to increased PPV buys and people talking about it in the office/barbers/shop.

If it makes money, people are going to do it sadly.
