Martin still fights like an amateur. Roach does not.

Even before Martin stepped in the ring with Tank, I laughed along with everyone else - to include Martin's trainer, Derrick James, when Tank said Derrick James was training Martin, to get a pay day.

Even James knew Martin wasn't ready and isn't good enough to win at the elite level.

Despite Roach's loss to Herring, he has improved, and seems to be heading towards being a seasoned fighter.

Martin fought Tank like a scared fighter, and he became pathetic in the later rounds. He fought like a man that was waiting to get knocked out.

Win, lose, or draw, I expect Roach to fight with more confidence.

These are just my thoughts. Saturday should show where, we, the fans stand

We will be told about how much of a juggernaut this guy is... Martin, whom was/is, a decent, excellent, workman like fighter, was touted as a supreme talent on the order of Ray Robinson marching forward to separate Tank from the championship lol.

Santa Cruz is a lot smaller than Davis. It was a good pick and all, but Santa Cruz has one approach and it was not going to work at lightweight, from a career featherweight, against a talent like Tank. Santa Cruz was a feather weight who went up to light weight just to fight Tank.

Most guys today seem to fight in that style. It is a shame... If you are correct about Roach Kudos! It would be nice to see Tank fight an opponent who has not been forced into a losing proposition. Either made to drain away into oblivion, or (like Martin) a basic decent fighter with talent, nowhere at the level of an elite fighter, or a fighter forced into a catchweight, or to come up in weight (Santa Cruz)... I mean the Pitbull Imo beat Tank! But at any rate the fight was close, precisely because Pitbull had real talent and ability.

He can solve the mystique, but he won't beat Davis lol.

Roach gets caught with shots when he is in the pocket (see his bout against Herring in particular), and he will have to go there to fight Davis. He doesn't have neither the footwork nor the arm length needed to outbox Davis. I see him being active, coming in and out and being successful in spots, because Davis after all isn't a defensive wizard himself. But, ultimately, Davis will take care of him.

And just a question: I hear people saying that Roach has improved since his defeat against Herring? Has he suddenly become the next Ray Leonard or something? I've seen the video of two of his fights after Herring, and I didn't see much of a difference from before, but maybe I was just skimming.

Let's talk about Valenzuela vs Russell, or Puello vs Martin instead. Much more interesting..
