No one said GGG was a bum in 2017. Just that he wasn’t the monster HBO and his NSB groupies made him out to be. GTFO with that. GGG was the naturally bigger man. He fought at middleweight the majority of his professional career while Canelo came up in much lower weights. He won the MW title against Cotto at a catchweight. Canelo had no issues making 160 while it was well known GGG had struggles cutting down to 160 in his 30’s. GGG was also a much heavier puncher at MW who was knocking out guys his size and bigger regularly. Canelo is a more counter puncher that can trade but was never a big KO artist like GGG. Fight night weights don’t tell the whole story.
