kudos to showtime for putting on a tournameny like this, but if the decisions are going to be based on who has home court advantage, then it's a waste of time. Dirrell won the fight, without question. In scoring a fight, when you have experience watching, you understand who wins is determined by who scores with the most effective punches. Dirrell was landing the most effective punches and had him hurt bad in the 10th round. He held alot, no question, and the point taken away can be a merited argument, but if this is the case, then you have to have taken a point away from Froch for all of the hitting behind the head. He even admitted it in the post fight interview. Regardless, the point taken away still would not have allowed for dirrell to win. I wish Showtime had the compubox stats like HBO, because I am sure Dirrell outlanded him by a wide margin. Let's hope the politics in boxing doesn't destroy this great idea of this tourney!

That decision already put a black eye on this tourney.. aint nothing personal just facts, jus cuz u hold doesnt mean your hurt! your trying to neutralize the threat plus you could be tired! but when you are visibly shaken and you stumble like froch did your hurt! man its funny got people here on this forum chttin **** when there prob never been in a fight let alone a ring themselves, go watch ballet.Did it look to you like Froch was hurt by that? He covered up for about 3 or 4 seconds then was the one coming back at Dirrell before the bell halted the action. To state that Dirrell was never hurt in the entire fight is somewhat baffling as he was forced to hold in the 8th for several exchanges running due to being caught with a hook. Not sure why you want to make it so personal by the way this is only a boxing forum lol.Comment

Co-sign... How can you look at boxing and not know when someone stumbles and is visibly shaken from a punch he is not hurt.aint nothing personal just facts, jus cuz u hold doesnt mean your hurt! your trying to neutralize the threat plus you could be tired! but when you are visibly shaken and you stumble like froch did your hurt! man its funny got people here on this forum chttin **** when there prob never been in a fight let alone a ring themselves, go watch ballet.Comment

it was highway robbery... froch didn't win that. With the point deduction, you cannot have a draw without an even round, something judges rarely give. If you had Dirrell by only one point, you don't think there's one round that someone might have seen the other way?
I personally had Dirrell winning it, even with the deduction, but it wasn't exactly highway robbery like some are claiming.Comment

And what was the reason that he was left with the only option of fighting on the inside or holding? Because he had be caught with a shot and was hurt and therefore could not move away to range with his usual deft footwork. That was Frochs main hope in this fight; to close the range on Dirrell by catching him, as it turned out by a pretty wild hook. Only then could he get on the inside or corner Dirrell to take away his main advantage which was obviously his speed in both hands and his feet. Now Dirrell chose to hold as he was hurt, fair enough and no-one would criticise him for that, it's 100% part of the game, but I'm not really sure why you would claim he wasn't hurt here.Comment

Please tell me which rounds were Dirrell hurt? I will look at it right now... Believe it or not most fighters hold to break the rhythm of the other fighter. I guess FMJ was hurt against JMM, is that why he was holding? And what was the reason that he was left with the only option of fighting on the inside or holding? someone should report you for being so ******. i give up. froch won. dirrell nearly died. from now on there should be no judges we should all turn to you for the answer. And what was the reason that he was left with the only option of fighting on the inside or holding? I've already referred to round 8 where he hugged him for 3 separate clinches I think, before the bell rang. If that's incorrect then apologies, it's late. Speaking of which I'm off to bed so feel free to PM if you would like to continue discussing it. Cheers.
Oh and Odawg? You need to take a pill. I never even said which way I scored it so I really have no clue why you have such an issue. I wasn't even talking to you at any point. Grow up.Last edited by Isola; 10-17-2009, 11:09 PM.Comment
