He also helped out the promotion a bit and probably still has a pretty good relationship with the promoters...they knew what he weighed and the short notice.

If he didn’t take this & lost the Ajagba fight for much less money where would he be? I think taking the money was the wise choice in his case. Nobody was lining up to fight him much like Hrgovic. High risk low reward. Heck Hrgovic & Bakole should fight.

Lost to Hunter, disappeared, got fat, beats an over hyped Anderson & a 45 year old Takem making him a top 10 danger man??
Even powder puff Wallin was top 10 recently & Chisora is back in.

Zhang Bakolie would be fun now though.

That 500k pounds is worth $1.8B in Congolese franc. The fat guy is laughing all the way back to the Congo right now!

Everyone has their own set of criteria by which they make choices. He chose to take the fight, knowing the risk. So it was worth it to him.

I dont know why everybody is second guessing him and calling him dumb for it. Maybe they just feel disappointed to not see a "fair" fight after both guys had camps. But that's how it works.

Credit to him for taking it, imo. Got a bunch of case for a brief schedule inerruption. Now go home, take today off, and get back to work tomorrow, with a nicer bank account.

We shouldn't forget that Bakole has KO'd Usyk 3 times in sparring, Dubois 5 times and Joshua 10 times.

Bakole lost but did not see his rep get tarnished. Got paid too. Not the worst night for the Congolese boxer

I'm still amazed that Parker was able to knocked out the boogeyman in 2.
