Facing a guy like Parker on two days notice was a terrible career move. You need a proper camp for someone of his caliber. Bakole’s team is foolish.

So glad Parker stopped him. I give Bakole credit for taking the fight on two days notice, but it was a ****** decision. I'm tired of hearing all his talk about everyone he's beaten up in sparring. Apparently Joseph Parker didn't get the message.Comment

Even with the short notice, getting stopped in under 2 rounds by someone who isn't even particularly heavy handed... I dunno man. Bakole should now put his head down, stfu about the sparring stories and try to build back up. He's no boogeyman.Comment

Take nothing away from Parker and give no excuses to Bakole. Once you step in the ring, you're declaring yourself fit to fight.
Personally I was never quite convinced of the hype around Bakole. Beating Anderson was big, but it wasn't exactly a surprise. Anderson isn't anywhere near top level.Comment

The fight was just very poor quality and quite disappointing in comparison with the true main event (Beterbiev and Bivol).
You would think that Parker winning by 2nd round KO would be a fun fight. But honestly, he looked slow and plodding and just as vulnerable as Bakole in there.
It was quite disturbing seeing how slow and clumsy Parker looked tbh. Was actually getting beaten up to the body at times.Last edited by keith_head; 02-22-2025, 07:06 PM.Comment

really i disagree, he didnt look slow and plodding he looked the same as before and thats with carrying the extra weight, theres a point in the fight where parker ducked a uppercut from bakole, missed him by inches, if he was slow parker would of been hit with this shotThe fight was just very poor quality and quite disappointing in comparison with the true main event (Beterbiev and Bivol).

What are you talking about? Parker was fighting smart - getting in and out, picking his shots perfectly and landing clean. His plan was to matador Bakole and drag it out to the later rounds, but he landed so easily on Bakole he capitalised on it in the second. The fight was just very poor quality and quite disappointing in comparison with the true main event (Beterbiev and Bivol).

He did everything right and walked away from an easy nights work with an even better resume.Comment

to me his feet looked slow which is quite wild to say when he was fighting someone who was 310 lbs. His nose was busted up and he was getting touched up to the body. I also think he doesn't take punches as well as he used to.
I've always had doubts about Parker's gas tank, but especially when he's this heavy and this easy to hit. Fair play, it gives him a bit more power.Comment
