Yup, which really also puts paid to the notion of daring to be great. Going through Fundora and Murtazaliev to become the only credible 3 division undisputed titlist in the four belt era would also have cemented Crawford's place in history. The big difference is that he wouldn't likely get paid as much, and he's also likely to lose before achieving it. Doing so would have made the Canelo fight more realistic as well. Surely if he's capable of beating Canelo, Fundora and Murtazaliev should be a relative walk in the park. But even though he's running from that challenge, you've still got people bleating about how he's daring to be great. I hope I'm wrong though.

yes indeed i think bud is a great fighter but hes also getting on a bit now so i dont hold it against him not wanting to face the young guns at 154 now and looking for the cash out //?? GLORY fight v canelo i dont really like the fight as they usually disappoint these types of things but im willing to give it a shot and would be happy to be surprised by it but i doubt that happens

Did you really need Crawford to say it though? It's common sense he's just waiting for carnela to pick him.

Biggest payday and a built in excuse "I moved up 3 weight classes and dared to be great but he's too big for me"

I'd like to say alot of yall don't have critical thinking but this is just common sense. How do you guys function?

crawford is 37 and his one fight for this year is taken.

of course he isnt going to spend his one fight a year for years 38, 39 and 40 trying to unify 154

Should become undisputed at 154, and then cash out v nelo. It would only take a year to best all 154 champs

Why would he be when he can become undisputed at 168 in just 1 fight and make more money by 5 times the amount than he'd make in those 3 other fights at 154.

It's not 3 fights. It's two. Fundora, and Murtazaliev. Do you think either of those guys is a better fighter than Canelo? If not, and he's actually capable of beating Canelo, why not do both? Become the first 3 division undisputed champ on the Saudi dime, THEN go up and beat Canelo, and have it seem much more realistic and probably make even more money. Then he would be 4 division undisputed, and would cement his place as the greatest of all time.

Of course, that logic only holds up if he actually CAN beat Canelo. If he can't, and it's just a cash grab, then he can't risk losing to the guys at 154, so he won't fight them, and then he'll go up and lose to Canelo, and then claim "I went up 2/3 weight classes and I was daring to be great".

Ducking undisputed at 154 only makes sense in one of those situations.

Would any of you people who think Bud is going to beat Canelo be willing to put coin down that Fundora or Murtazaliev beats Canelo? If not, ask yourself why not get the extra bank and extra history.
