A lot of people delude themselves into thinking fighters are unbeatable or that this fighter could never beat this fighter or hurt this fighter.
Beterbiev and Bivol are great fighters. But to diminish Benavidez saying he has no shot leaves a door open for people to be shocked should he best one of them.
I am not saying Benavidez wins but you have to look at the trajectory he is on. People can downplay every fight he has had but I see a fighter that is possibly about to start peaking in his late 20's with solid development fights these last few years.
People say he has no power but he has something going for him because no one can seem to push him back when he decides to march forward. The go to response is going to be that he can't push Beterbiev back (too strong/ too much power) but that is something I am not completely comfortable saying from what I see.Comment

His last match vs Morrell. Morrell came out more active the last rounds. Now he has to carry more weight and be more active to hurt bigger guys. He barely had power at 168. Beterbiev volumes is more consistent and stronger than Benavidez. Plus Beterbiev looks like granite. Never seen him hurt.Comment

A ton of "what if" out there. But I think we can all agree Benavidez has worked to earn a shot at one of the top level talents out there. He is not perfect as a boxer, but he has earned it. As a Beterbiev fan boy, I give Benavidez a better than average chance against my man. That cliché about Father Time winning everything springs to mind. I kind of feel Bivol may be a bad natch up for him stylistically, but again a motivated and hungry Benavidez might be able to steal some rounds and make it a very interesting fight.
There seems to be a new tradition: Become undisputed, then dump the IBF belt so you can fight a better opponent than whatever Flavor of the Week the IBF has manufactured as the #1 contender through some suspect system I am fairly sure involves hungry chimpanzees and a hidden banana in a maze. Hopefully, Benavidez is next up whenever Beterbiev and Bivol settle their business.Comment

So have never seen him knocked down twice before? Maybe you should watch more of his fights. Also the anthony yarde fight when he went life and death for 8 rounds with a UK level fighter. Casuals acting like these guys are on another level is simply not true. Benavidez has many advantages over both of them.Comment
