Comments Thread For: Beterbiev-Bivol rematch winner inherits wealth of options

A trilogy wouldn't be out of the question if Bivol gets his revenge, though there is no shortage of mandatory challengers waiting in line.

If the Beterbiev/Bivol winner does end up fighting Eifert, then Benavidez should fight the Buatsi/Smith winner on the undercard. That would expedite things and give us only one guy as the WBA/WBC/WBO mandatory with each of their silly secondary belts.

IBF has already made it very clear that they want Eifert to get his shot
But I do like what you are insinuating

Beterbiev won by majority decision, not by UD

If Bivol wins, the trilogy is guaranteed according to Turki

Both these guys are at an age where belts should not matter as much as health/legacy. It may be an unpopular opinion and unlikely to happen, but I truly would like to see Beterbiev retire win or lose. He is on the wrong side of 40, and I do not love how the injuries are piling up on him. What else does he have to prove? He has his wits about him, a KO streak unmatched by nearly anyone in boxing history, his finances are set, and he has his stellar amateur career and his Hall of Fame pro career resumes all set. Go enjoy the Canadian weather and raise that family.

Bivol has a bit to give yet, win or lose. At least 2 more top level years. But he should be focusing on top money fights not these worthless belts that just leach sanctioning fees of his success.

How it is going to pan out:
              1) Bivol wins rematch, trilogy fight will be announced shortly after
              2) IBF will strip Bivol for not facing their mandatory. Eifert will be made IBF Champion
              3) Benavidez will try to force the fight against Eifert in Vegas for the IBF belt
              4) Winner of trilogy fight will face IBF Champion to redetermine undisputed

Bivol wins theres obviously gonna be trilogy fight.

Beterbiev wind then he should either retire as undisputed & undefeated, or just take whatever is the biggest money fight available whenever he's ready, and let these leeching self appointed "sanctioning bodies" do what they may; fakk them

Neither of these guys (Bivol-Beterbiev) will give a snap about being stripped or not ... They showed for years that they wouldn't back out from anyone... Only the sanctionning bodies would look like fools... But again, they're used to it ...
