I enjoy watching Ortiz fight. He comes to entertain and is never in a boring fight. I am puzzled that he has not gone for a title yet. He was a prospect long time ago. I know he had health issues as a result of trying to stay at 147 for too long, but still with Oscar's promotional muscle he should have challenged for a title by now.

He was mandatory for Crawford at 147 for a while but obviously was out for a while with health issues and had to move up and then obviously charlo was undisputed at 154 so the belts were tied up there but then obviously as he dropped them belts or got stripped the highest rank guys/mandatorys got the shot at the belts first. 154lbs is a weird division right now because you got Crawford with a belt but he ain't staying at 154 so who knows what happens with that title and you got fundora with two belts and he was waiting for Spence but that ain't happening now so he's fighting Chordale booker next month now and you got Murtazaliev with a belt but he's dangerous and not the biggest of draws.

Crawford's belt will go vacant, so every challenger should be positioning for the WBA. Of course, everyone is very scared of Murtazaliev right now, if Ortiz was tough he would go for him in Saudi instead.. Fundora will be forced to face a mandatory next, which should be Ortiz as the interim champ.

It's a classic Veteran vs Young Lion match. GGG can still beat the top 10-20 guys in the division even though he's past prime but if Virg can't get past him then there's no reason to move forward at the weight.
