Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois ready ?to beat the ambition? out of Joseph Parker
IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois believes that, coming off victories over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua, that the best is still to come.

When Daniel was coming up I thought he would get here without the loses he received, but those fights were the one's that showed me a questionable heart and that he's a one trick pony! In Joseph Parker we have a patient veteran who's hungry and seasoned and keeps his guard tight especially against punchers so I favor the experience over the big strong hard hitting muscular guy with youth, because he's still not smart and that's what it will come down too. The New heavyweight 2X Champion of the world Joseph Parker!
Styles make fights and all that. I hope he's not overlooking Parker. Parker's had better competition to prepare himself for Dubois vs two big heavy hitters with limited head and foot movement, than Dubois' who's faced largely guys who want to come forward, rather than guys who will box from the outside. So personally, I think Parker's career resurgence means more vs Dubois than Dubois' does vs Parker. Still, it's heavyweight, and a single punch can change everything, and Dubois has a lot more volume than Zhang and shot Wilder. I'm not counting anyone out in this one.

Wasn't it DuBois largely going forward against Joshua though?
With such success fresh in his mind, why wouldn't he try and do it again against Parker?
I feel we get to see who Dubois really is in this fight. Joshua fought poorly and has a crap chin and bad recovery. Parker is smart and durable. Dubois has the momentum so I expect him to win but Parker has a good chance if he survives the early rounds.
Dubois has looked vulnerable in the past too - e,g. Usyk stopped him late on. Going for Duobis to win though
Big Doobie is going to beat the hot piss out of Parker. I hope that he's got his health insurance paid up. Big Doobie The Destroyer is not coming to play tiddlywinks or crochet. Big Doobie is in the business of wrecking heavyweights and he's coming to work on Saturday.

He's certainly going to be on the front foot. That's what he does. And Parker has fought two big punchers who have at least some stylistic similarities to Dubois, while Miller, Hrgovic, and AJ do not fight anything like Parker has been.
I don't think it's hard to predict that Parker's going to be fighting off the back foot while Dubois is going to be on the front foot trying to wear him down and land a big shot. He'll likely drop Parker in the process, but will Parker be able to get up, as he did vs Zhang? Dubois is also more active than Zhang and shot Wilder. So it will be harder for Parker to bank rounds. But Parker's recent experience is much more reflective of the kind of fight than Dubois'. So I think it would be foolish to overlook him for Dubois.
