I wasn't a big fan JuanMa initially when he came on the scene. Then I became an instant fan when I saw him blow away Daniel Ponce DeLeon in 1rd to win the belt. He just went through Daniel PDL like he didn't belong in the ring with him and at that time Daniel PDL was destroying everyone in front of him.

Though there were early signs that he was chinny. That Filipino fighter that wore pink shorts dropped him and everyone went silent. JuanMa came back to KO him, but it was a sign.

Honestly, if Daniel PDL had a chance to land something meaningful in their first fight, it could have gone differently. In their rematch, he showed somewhat what he could have done by dropping JuanMa, but then JuanMa came back to immediately drop him. That was an exciting rematch to be honest, but the ref may have stopped it a tad too early.

I know. Adding ita is like saying smaller in feminine. Like cajita is a little box or hermanita is a little sister

It was such a sudden drop, from what people thought he would be, and it was ugly too. After the Salcido fights, his losses were really painful.Never mind a failing career, I was half expecting him to be killed in there at some point if he kept goin.

Speaking of sudden drops at around the same time, but not as bad, was Kelly Pavlik...lost to Bhop and then Martinez and that was it...expected him to be around longer.

It's great to see Juan Manuel Lopez's son following in his father's footsteps in boxing!

If he doesn’t want the same thing that happened to Juanma and Yuriorkis Gamboa to happen to him…then he shouldn’t have signed with Top Rank.

Bob Arum is the one who marinated that fight out of existence.
