If they had the IQ above a dead frog, they would have taken college classes while fighting. I dig how Juan Diaz, former Lightweight champ was studying law. But Juarez who fought Nonito Donaire had a law degree but still decided to be a punching bag rather than a lawyer. Go figure. But I've read about many fighters who studied in college because they know they needed an after-boxing career and went on to have nice jobs after boxing. There were 10 boxers I read recently who had careers after boxing. Just nnow read that Juan owns his own trucking company but at least he has a career after the sport.

Yep, some athletes exude intelligence, although not always through academics.
Steve Young, the former 49ers Super Bowl QB is a lawyer. In boxing, big old George Foreman showed his intelligence by reinventing himself as a personality as well as a resurgent heavyweight champion. He is one sharp cookie. Same with Mike Tyson. Don't be fooled by his earlier years and odd speaking manner. He's a smart and thoughtful guy.
