Rumor Report #1, TKO/ UFC, looking to weaken Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act
There are Rumurs that TKO, the company that owns UFC/WWE is looking to get into boxing but wants to appeal or weaken the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act before they enter boxing. The company has close ties to Turki and the Trump administration.
Of course removing the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act will make boxing similar to the UFC model which is basically a monopoly.
Some of the benefits of the Act
Requires sanctioning organizations to file information with the FTC, including their bylaws, policies, and sanctioning fee schedule Requires judges and referees to disclose any benefits they receive for participating in a boxing match
Prohibits promoters from having a direct or indirect financial interest in managing a boxer
Requires state boxing commissions to certify and approve all judges and referees who participate in boxing matches
Do think this organization and Turki could push for this to actually happen?
