Every time a one-dimensional puncher gets outboxed by a superior fighter, it's bc he was running. Never fails. Valenzuela did exactly what he was supposed to do against him. Cruz is a fun guy to watch, but the name of the game is hit and don't get hit. Can't get mad at the other guy for exploiting your shortcomings.
