very slim chance you will make more than what you paid for... there's not a huge market for folks looking to buy a $13mil mansion... look at all the celebs who
loss money from it... if you wanna buy houses to flip it, you have to buy houses in the range that regular folks can afford. this is how you make money. you buy a fixer upper, spend a few grands on it to remodel it, then sell it for more than you bought it for. but you cant really do that with a $13mil mansion because not everyone is in the market for a $13mil mansion.

It's easy to talk on the outside looking in, but you aren't in their mindsets and how they think. The majority of fighters come from nothing at all. The moment they have money, they just see what they can afford based on a price tag and what they have in their bank account. They're not putting much thought into the future or understanding that fighter paychecks are not re-occurring until retirement. They'll get some hot checks early on, but when it's over, it's over. Depending on how they managed that money will determine their future livings.

I agree, as a person on the outside, I would buy something manageable. Something I can easily afford and then know I can continue with the upkeep for years to come. This means paying your town taxes which depending where you live, they can be in the thousands and thousands per year. Knowing you can keep up with things that break over time within the home, etc. etc. I would also like to know I'm secure all the way through retirement to death. Otherwise, what was the point?

I sometimes think of Zab Judah. The dude made millions, but after boxing, he works as a nurse or something at a hospital. Crazy to think he's going to work a "normal" job probably until he's 65. I don't know exactly what he did, but if he had to get a new career after boxing, I think he did something wrong there...

this is totally not true... while this may be true for some boxers that are not from the USA, the rest of the other boxers didnt grow up dirt poor, etc..

it's this fake image that they are trying to present themselves in. rappers does it all the time.. soon as they get their first big check, they spend it all on chains, watches, grills, etc..

because social media tells them that they will get more respect and followers if they show off materialistic things.

Okay, maybe not the majority, though many in the US as well grow up poor and get into boxing to change their ways. I know there are the others that want to flaunt it to stand out. Danny Garcia comes to mind, lol. Though I was thinking of the overall big picture including back in the days prior to social media and folks having to show off what they have. Tons of fighters including ones from the US grew up poor and took up the sport to change their lives. It might not be the majority anymore, but it still counts for many.
