Homeboy didn't become a boxer on short notice, did he ?
Even if he had 100000 years to prepare, it was never going to better than this.

Kid stepped in there on short notice with possibly the most dangerous fighter in boxing right now and in the process saved the show.

And forum posters want to talk **** on him?

This is why almost everyone in boxing is risk averse.

Some fighters get a pass on constantly fighting bums
        Other fighters get called out

Which type of fan are you ?

I mean what is any manager supposed to say in this case? Its not like he can say "as everyone all expected the overmatched Kim got whipped and crushed in 4R but hey we got money so thx Goodman" or something.

If I'm gonna praise Kim and give him a consolation pat on the back, I'd say something like "thanks for being able to make weight (something many boxers failed at last year), not get injured (Goodman) or sick at the last minute (Martinez against Ioka), agreeing to fight on short notice (to make the event happen so the undercard doesn't completely get canned costing Ohashi even more money and headache from the fiasco) and even throwing a few punches prior to the inevitable result that actually touched Inoue (even if no damage worth mentioning resulted)"

He hasnt fought the competition of Usyk, Canelo, or even Crawford, now BAM, and even guys with losses, like AJ...this has been going on a bit.

His team isn't about chasing greatness
              More like padding the stats

He fought Donaire twice, beat Fulton in a 50-50 fight. Beat Nery, beat Tapales - the trouble is most 'fans' don't know their boxing or they would give him his props - he's cleared out two divisions - like Usyk.
Canelo has avoided his biggest threats esp Benavidez
Crawford didn't get a chance to clear out 147 and was often criticised for his opponents at 147 until he fought Spence
Bam has fought the previous generation and smaller sunny Edwards and is just starting

                    Sheesh....

                    A) If a guy is going to lose, make it worth his trouble. He will not get a bigger paycheck
                    B) How much time do you think he would have needed to make the fight even ?

Now, let me put you in the shoes of a boxer.
You just came off of your fight
All healed up and ready to go

During training camp, are you training to fight.....
                    A) Crippled midgets
                    B) Blind geezers
                    C) The best of the div

It's not as if a pilot asked a passenger to take the wheel.
A boxer was asked to fight someone
