Comments Thread For: Las Vegas blockbuster dates could include a Cinco de Mayo bout for Canelo Alvarez

All that talk about Las Vegas losing big fights will be paused for a seven-week chunk starting March 22 that could include at least five world-title bouts ? plus an opening that could materialize as a Cinco de Mayo-weekend reprisal for the sport?s most popular fighter, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Imho. The Garcia card isn't great and neither is ginger/Scull. Come to thi k of it, most of those mentioned aren't top notch cards. Pretty sad for the 1st half of the year. February has the best cards hands down

Pbc holding that arena and date probably to entice carnela. But do they have the money to pay both carnela and scull?

On my bucket list is planning a vacation to Vegas (I have never been) on the weekend of a prize fight so I can watch a live, important boxing match in the historic backdrop of where so many great fights have happened. I may have to adjust that to "just some match". I will wait to see what is firmed up, but I do not think Vegas is getting anything really important at least for the first half of the year.

Think this was his plan the whole time. Let go off the IBF belt to some nobody, so he could have an easy cherry-pick but call it the fight to get "Undisputed" to sell it to mainstream fans.. While Scull is a nobody, Ryder, Berlanga were also relatively unknown and Canelo filled the stadiums... It will also not risk spoiling the Crawford fight like a fight with Mbili would.. Business decision for Canelo, although a massively coward move of course.

Read the article. Turki might be involved and he has plenty of money.

                Dumbass.

You asked if they had the money to pay both Canelo and Scull. If Turki is involved as the article suggests then there will be plenty of money available.

                    Jackass.
