I disagree. That fight won't pique the public's interest. The only fighter I can think of is Deontay Wilder. Since they are both ruined fighters.It would help generate a lot of buzz and demand among boxing fans.
I know that fight is well past its expiration date but it's the only fight for both of them. Where they can make a lot of money and also a fight that boxing fans would pay to see.Comment

You are right. Most boxing fans don’t want to see a Joshua/Fury fight because AJ is not the same fighter. While on the other hand, Fury is neither ruined or washed up. He can still compete at the elite level.
Fury has never been overmatched or dominated in his entire career. Sure he has probably absorbed a lot more punishment than AJ.
However, he is yet still a lot more durable and stronger than he is; Both physically as well as mentally.

Sadly, I don't think Wilder is up to it, nor should he be. Part of why he was dangerous was because it looked like he was wide open to hit, but he was quick and instinctive and would evade the heavy, damaging punches. He doesn't seem to have that anymore so he really is wide open to hit, nearly defenseless. No fighter should be fighting when they are incapable of defending. Also age is a factor for Wilder. The damage from the Fury wars coupled with him aging into his forties has changed him. I doubt we will see the sharp, stalking, heat-seeking missile style of the younger Wilder.
AJ can still defend himself (when he can be bothered to do it). He's also younger and really should still be able to compete with most. His challenge has been being mentally ok getting hit, and staying tough and steady (since the Ruiz loss). When he gets off first he has been able to suck it up and fight. But if his opponent gets off first with heavy blows, mentally, he seems to start looking for cover. Physically and age-wise he can still fight. The question has been a mental one for a while.
That said I still wouldn't want either guy mad and after me, LoL! They are dangerous men with big hands and long arms.

As the weeks pass by, the Heavyweight competitive landscape is altering. When I made my first post in this thread, I believe Tyson Fury was still a active professional fighter 'Now he is retired. Which was a move I stated during the aftermath of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Uysk II could happen. I made it very clear that Tyson Fury has never wanted to fight Anthony Joshua, and? That people should not be surprised if he distances himself from the prospect of fighting Joshua after his rematch with Oleksandr Uysk II.
Anthony Joshua has always been a stylistically very difficult fight for Tyson Fury 'Which was why he originally chose to fight Deontay Wilder I, because? Wilder was seen as the stylistically easier fight at that time in Fury's career. Both Fury and Wilder, fought each other to tactically side step Anthony Joshua. That is called match making, and guiding a fighter's career. I am not being highly critical towards both Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, but I am telling people the motives behind their first fight happening. They both fought each other to tactically avoid Anthony Joshua'.
Note: The biggest mega fights that can be made in boxing right now, and the easiest match ups to make are ether 'Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua. Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are the two fighters no surprise? That are making those match ups extremely difficult to make. Tyson Fury has just retired after, declaring he has to fight Anthony Joshua regardless of the outcome vs Oleksandr Uysk II. And Deontay Wilder is content with now fighting Domestic level fighters'.
Present day in 2025 the fight against Deontay Wilder, would make sense for both fighters 'But out of those two fighters, only? Anthony Joshua seems to have the desire and ambition to still compete at top level'.
People may mock and ridicule Anthony Joshua 'But Joshua still is aiming to compete against the World's best Heavyweight fighters. Deontay Wilder's next fight is against a Domestic level Heavyweight'.
To conclude: I personally think Joshua's next fight is between this main group of fighters 'Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker, Markin Bakoli, Efe Ajagba, Agit Kabayel, Zhilei Zhang. There is a outside chance of Anthony Joshua fighting Dillan Whyte for the third time, Amateur and professional. But? I would only expect such a low level fight if all of those fighters within that main group refuse to fight Joshua'.
But I think such a situation is unlikely to happen, because? Outside of a World title fight 'Having the opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua, in my opinion is the biggest opportunity for all top level Heavyweight fighters. Wherever they fight Joshua, that fight will be a major event due to Anthony Joshua scope and range as a global boxing superstar'.
I think Anthony Joshua and his team, should mainly be focusing on the Bakoli vs Ajagba, Zhang vs Kabayal fights. The victors of those match ups, should be the two top competitors to fight Joshua. But waiting for the outcome of those match ups, would see Anthony Joshua potentially returning to fight quite late in the year'.
Therefore, if Anthony Joshua and his team want to return back to the game earlier 'A great fight to make would be the trilogy fight vs Andy Ruiz Junior III'. And this time around? Joshua can come into this fight with the ambition of beating Ruiz Junior down brutally. I believe both fighters have a lot to again from fighting each other, especially Anthony Joshua at this stage of his career' etc.

Joshua has no intention to fight real contenders. That he didn't call for the immediate rematch with Dubois speaks volumes.
The Fury/Wilder/AJ years of holding belts to ransom are history. None of them are coming back to win straps anymore.
It's time for the resurrection of the most consistent heavweight boxer of the last decade.
