We'll see who among these posters are man enough to admit they're wrong about their assessment on either fighter. Most times the prediction is based on feelings of dislike than anything else, then justify it with elaborate breakdown of technical abilities ignoring other factors.

As mentioned earlier, this is not a fantasy fight. The result will be known in less than 2 weeks. Unlike in a fantasy fight, you can say whatever you want, ie, fighter A beats fighter B with no hope or chance of fighter B proving you wrong, which doesn't seem fair.

I think Morrell can try to do what Paul Williams did against Margarito.

Keep him turning constantly; box, fight, move laterally in a tight circle. Don't end up on the ropes too often. Paul had to keep an insane workrate to do that though. And although he was successful early on; eventually, he had to stand in and fight. That fight was high paced and flew by very quickly. Before you knew it, it was the 8-9th round and Marg hadn't really gotten going with anything consistent to discourage Paul.

Every time I think of this upcoming fight, that matchup from the past is where my mind goes.

Marg was thought to be avoided at the time, Paul sought him out. Both similar stature, southpaw/orthodox, both in their primes.

I realize Benavidez is different than Marg, but I think the fight will "look" like that one early on. So, can Morrell really do all that? I've seen most of his pro fights and I feel like he should be able to do the tactical parts, but how long can it hold up.

I haven't seen many other comparison fights from posters, but I'd love to hear any.

*note: Williams had sparred Marg prior to the fight

All its done is ingrain bad habits then when he fights a real one his own size who can hit he has a big problem he isn't used to. He has fought what, two guys his own size? Some Romanian bum who put him on his a55 and a 40yr old Nail who was semi-retired and went the distance and gave him a tough fight despite looking awful. That wasn't the same fighter who fought Adonis or Beterbiev. That was a very worn, highly inactive old man who looked like he had rigor mortis.

I think his dad is a terrible trainer he has two sons blessed with the ability to cut obscene amounts of weight, durability, handspeed etc but frankly he knows nothing about footwork or fundamentals and simply for that reason I don't see him beating any decent, durable southpaw who has power let alone Morrell. Any trainer worth a damn **** teaches feet first he teaches a whole lot of shoe-shining, It doesn't matter how nice your hands are if you haven't the footwork to get in to position. A guy like this will only ever look a 'monster' if you stand in front of him replicating a punchbag. Show him lateral movement and you'll see just how ordinary he really is.

I think don't think for one moment Morrell is this 'phenom' either just a very good fighter. Good quality fighter but nothing special but he should have way too much and be far too classy to lose to this guy.
Still the dumbest poster on this site. Nothing has changed in almost 15 years. This is one of the most idiotic takes I've ever seen, par for the course from you. I loved the "guys half his size" take considering the Nail was bigger than Benavidez and that's only 7 lbs north.

Like Plant did? You're a moron. So is MulaKO and the crimson jabroni. Cuban guy is just a D rider so he gets a pass.

Morrell had is moments and I wanted him to win (I often root for the underdog). Showed a granite chin and buckled Benavidez a couple of times.

Was a great night of boxing.
