Besides, there isn’t a huge amount of people labelling Salido a bum.

What they do is lessen Loma, just like they do other boxers, for losing to a guy he was so heavily favored to beat.
Was he really a favourite to win ???
    By thé bookies or hearsay

Salido's performance have nothing to do with Davis' situation you ful. Even when you get it right you get it right for the wrong reasons.

he also moved up to 130 and was robbed against roman martinez ranked #5 and had a draw with #2 vargas which i scored the fight for salido but razor close.

tank davis has never beaten anyone in the top 3 his entire career yet he's great and a p4p fighter and salido is a bum? because salido had 8 losses early in his career? who cares? he put in work during his prime. tank did not. salido in his prime lost to marquez who was ranked #2, gamboa ranked #2, and mikey garcia ranked #3. and? when you fight top guys over and over its pretty hard to win them all. going 4-3 is pretty impressive. dubois is 2-2 against top level guys and hes considered a top guy rightfully. why is salido considered some sort of bum?
If anything, Salido doesn't get enough criticism for his fouling in headbutts/lowblows but he does seem underrated to me. He tested positive for Nandrolone against Guerrero for whom he beat, being able to fight against another quite underrated fighter in Robinson Castellanos, who went to beat multiple champions in Ronny Rios (23-0), Celestino Caballero (36-4), and Yuriorkis Gamboa (26-1). Castellanos never won a title and had a deceptive record of (3-6) at 25 years old, as he had debuted late.

There is also the fact that he come bloated overweight against a debuting Lomachenko coming over 21 pounds (147) and did a lot of low blow fouls. Also think he shouldn't had won since Loma had outscored him and should had been disqualified for repeated low blows, but Salido's punch combinations, had mostly landed and often hurt Ukranian even when he tried to slip/weave through them, perhaps because Loma was going from the amateur background to pro fighting with this being his second fight. Lomachenko almost finished him at the end of the fight despite the weight disparity, could have probably pulled it off if he had more experience or at least knocked him down to get the win.

As for Juan Manuel Lopez X2 are pretty good wins having beaten one of the hard punching fighters at 122-126 historically in his hometown twice, an undefeated two division world champion in his physical prime with a record of 30-0, 27 KOs, with wins over Gerry Penalosa, Daniel Ponce De Leon, Steve Luevano, Bernabe Concepcion, and Rafael Marquez.

Salido should won against Cruz, Bandido Vargas and Roman Martinez in the rematch. Faulty judging as they are the high profile fighter. Salido vs JMM was a pretty boring one sided fight since Siri didn't want to engage and Marquez was just waiting for him, odd since their styles should had meshed well. Mikey Garcia almost got him out there early dropping him four times, but due to a headbutt breaking Mikey's nose, the fight went to the scorecards.

People in the past called him a gatekeeper, but he held multiple world championships at featherweight (126), whether you agree with the outcome against Loma or not, he beat both of whom were considered to be among the best active boxers in the pound for pound rankings in Juan Manuel Lopez and Vasily Lomachenko. He mostly lost as the underdog against fighter who were backed by the promotions and judges, but he deserves to be judged on his fouling in hadbutts/lowblows, testing positive and fighting despite coming overweight more than once. His skills are genuine as likely beat most of the champions today like Ball, Leo and Fulton.

Edit: Also like to note that Salido was also past his best against Loma, as he gassed out relatively early after 6 rounds.
