Yes, you are right. Inoue fights only guys he can beat because he can beat anyone and everyone near his weight division. But I would say he can't beat Usyk, or even Tyson Fury and you are right he won't dare fight those 2 guys. I guess you don't understand how sillyy your post is.

This. This all day. Inoue wants to fight. Fighters and trainers - rightfully- hate to waste training camps and all the expenses that are a part of it. Inoue gets basically paid for a spar session, this guy who has boxed in obscurity gets an all time best payday, Everyone else on the card fights, fans get to go to the arena and see a current great destroy someone live or get to watch it with their choice of beverage on their couch if they so choose. Never understood the hate for what is obviously not the fault of the guy looking for the late replacement. Boxers just want to fight.

Fighters years back had a lot of unknown in their records. They fought frequently and kept sharp. Plus why deny the whole card and the wasted time of the trainer? It is not an ideal fight but it keeps him active. I wish more fighters were active. Even Chavez in the height of his popularity fought frequent to stay busy and sharp. That is why he has so many fights and wins and his record is full of subpar opponents. He won the fights that mattered.

I just realized Sam Goodman has actually managed to accomplish something I thought would be impossible in my lifetime...make me actually have a sliver of appreciation toward Paul Butler two years ago for having managed to show up in Tokyo without getting injured, make the required weight limit, don't get caught with anything controversial before/after the fight, and actually get in the ring with Inoue...something Goodman all failed at.

Honestly that is how low Goodman's gone on my list of personal preference, holding hands with Casimero at the bottom of the abyss right now.

Well Inoue has been messed about by Goodman 3x now and him and the team have decided the show must go on.

Nobody world class is going to step in with that little prep time

He's one of the most active champs in boxing, and has faced a higher percentage of champions and ranked opponents in his career than any other active boxer. He fights 2-3 times a year for his whole career excepting 2020 for obvious reasons, and would have fought 3 times in 2024 if Goodman hadn't been a jacka$$. Maybe you're thinking about Crawford or one of the many inactive PBC champions, like Lara, Adames, Teo, or ex champs Charlo and Charlo, Spence, etc.
